Start-ups & Founding Projects without RUB Affiliation

Start-ups or founding teams that are directly supported by the Worldfactory Start-up Center at RUB can use our services free of charge! This is possible because RUB specifically aims to promote the creation of knowledge-based start-ups at the university.

If you are part of a start-up or founding team (not yet established or founded no more than 3 years ago) and have not yet been supported by Worldfactory, there are two options for working in the RUB Makerspace:

1. You operate as a commercial company
   In this case, the terms and conditions listed under the “Companies” category apply to you. This generally involves higher costs but gives you full flexibility.

2. You become part of RUB
   Alternatively, we can set up a separate agreement within the Makerspace that allows us to admit you as a founding project in the RUB Makerspace. In return, you commit to attending a few coaching sessions, submitting reports, and supporting our public outreach activities.
   If someone from your start-up is affiliated with RUB, you can then use the RUB Makerspace for your founding project free of charge! If no one on your team is affiliated with RUB, you will receive an 80% discount. In both cases, ask our team for the so-called “Start-up form.”
