Project and Seminar Rooms
Do you need a dedicated room for a few hours to work on your project with your team? Are you still looking for a seminar room with technical equipment for your teaching? Is the cross-department quarterly meeting coming up and you just want to get out of your usual meeting room for a change? We might have something for you!
All rooms can be booked individually by arrangement with us.
Seminar Room
Our seminar room can be adapted entirely to your needs thanks to its movable tables. An 86-inch touch display is available, which you can connect to your own device. By prior arrangement, the room can also be equipped differently—creative furniture, additional tools, alternative seating (for example, chairs with foldable writing tablets), and much more are possible.
Computer Room
Our computer room offers 20 PC workstations for participants and one for instructors. A large 86-inch touch display is available for presentations. The computers can be folded away, allowing the room to also be used as a traditional seminar space. One workstation is wheelchair accessible.
Our equipment:
The computers are Thin Clients, which means the actual machines are located in the university’s data center and are centrally administered by IT.Services. Various software relevant to “making” is preinstalled. Using the workstations requires a RUB login ID or an event account.
Here you can find an overview of all computers and software available in the Makerspace.
Practical Seminar Room
Our practical seminar room in the basement is intended for seminars and groups that need a workshop-style space for their (teaching) activities. In everyday use, the room also serves as a shared workbench and multifunctional workspace for all workshops and labs.
The room can be equipped flexibly—for example with chairs, folding tables, classic tables, or our mobile workbenches, tools, and machines, as well as media technology as needed. Compressed air, high-voltage power, a sink with sludge trap, roller doors leading outside, and roller doors connecting to the adjacent workshops (Digital Lab and metal workshop, with another roller door to the wood workshop) are part of the basic setup. Depending on the configuration, the room can accommodate 5–20 people.
Project Rooms
We have two project rooms on each floor for approximately 3–6 people. The rooms are furnished quite differently and are intended to serve you and your team as project spaces, retreat areas, meeting rooms, or simply flexible-use rooms.
